Sample itinerariesIstanbul Walks…

From the Mosque of Suleyman the Magnificent, strolling down the traditional bazaars of Istanbul, and then covering Golden Horn, Pera and Istiklal districts…

This is a walking tour, ideally starting around 9am and finishing by 3-5 pm depending on interests of our guests.
We meet with guests at the hotel or the port, then we either take a taxi or use public transportation to the Mosque of Suleyman (Ottoman, 500 years old).

Then comes a walk down to the coast through a very colorful local market.
The far end of this walk is Spice Market ( Ottoman, 500 years old ).

Arriving to Spice Market, we are now in Golden Horn area.
Walking over the bridge connecting both sides of Golden Horn is like walking between stages of history; from the Old City, to the city of 19th Century.

The rest of the afternoon is dedicated to back street walks, you know… Following smells, exploring locations where locals socialize. We have different routes for this walk but generally speaking, we end up with Galata/Pera area (Pera of Agatha Christie). At the end of the walking tour, we take our guests back to their hotel/port.

With its long walks, this day is designed for happy walkers. Once you make it to the end, you will get a very good feel of the city.
There are no set walking routes or stops for the day.
We will be walking through different local market areas, stopping many times to taste local food, and sharing the local life of our city with you.

Mosque of Suleyman

The Süleymaniye Mosque is a 16th-century imperial mosque built by the famous Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan for Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, and it stands as one of the greatest symbols of the Ottoman Empire’s power and elegance. Perched on one of Istanbul’s hills, it offers stunning views over the Golden Horn and features a vast, light-filled interior crowned by a majestic central dome.

Spice Market

The Spice Bazaar, also known as the Egyptian Bazaar, is a lively 17th-century market where traders have sold spices, dried fruits, nuts, and sweets for centuries. Today, it’s one of Istanbul’s most colorful and fragrant spots, offering visitors a taste of the city’s rich culinary and trading history.

Galata Tower

The Galata Tower is a medieval stone tower built in the 14th century by the Genoese, offering one of the best panoramic views of Istanbul. From the top, you can see the Bosphorus, the Golden Horn, and the historic skyline stretching across both Europe and Asia.

Beyoglu

Beyoğlu is one of Istanbul’s most vibrant neighborhoods, known for its lively atmosphere, historic architecture, and cultural diversity. Centered around İstiklal Street, it’s filled with cafés, art galleries, shops, and nightlife, blending European influences with the energy of modern Istanbul.
